Terra Nova Testing
Terra Nova testing will take place on February 18-25. The complete battery of tests fills about ninety minutes each day for about four days within that period of time. Sixth grade testing will take place primarily in the afternoon.
The Terra Nova is a standardized achievement test which assesses student progress in Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
What can you do to prepare? Be sure that your child is getting a good night's sleep and eating a healthy breakfast in the morning! We as teachers will make sure that there is a little more down, quiet time and outdoor time during this week.
It is important that your child is here on these testing days. If sickness keeps a student at home, the test will be made up after school between 3:15 and :15 during the week of March 1.
I Love Math Day- February 11th!
The Middle Schoolers have started working on several word problems that are leading up to our I-Love-Math Day event! The sixth grade has come up with some incredible solutions and pieces of artwork to display these solutions! On this day, the Middle School will meet several guests on a Math Panel- we will hear how these guests connect math to their every day lives. Winners of the word problems will also be announced.
Midterms
Midterms have been written and sent in the mail! Midterms are intended to update you on the progress that your child has made over the first part of this term and to address any possible concerns. Please do not hesitate to e-mail or call if you have a question.
