Dear Parents,
Yesterday, the entire middle school traveled to the Jewish Heritage Museum. We spent about two hours touring the museum and learning about World War II and the Holocaust.
When we returned to the classroom, the sixth graders reflected on all of the information that they had been presented with. We thought, specifically, about the general reactions that the oppressed Jewish people had to their dire circumstances as well as the reactions of others who lived in Eastern Europe at this time. The sixth grade showed a great amount of insight and honesty as each student reflected on how he or she believed that they would react if they had been a part of this time period. Please be sure to ask your child about the trip and this discussion!
On another note, thank you for attending and being a part of the conferences last week. Your presence is valued and it was great to touch base with each one of you.
As we look ahead to the remainder of the term, there are several quizzes and assignments that will take place. Please be sure the check your child's homework book regularly. I will also post the homework and major assignments on this blog.
