Personal Narratives
The 6th graders are working on third and final drafts of their first significant writing assignment- a five paragraph personal narrative. We are focusing on writing with purpose. Not only are we writing about a memory, we are writing about why these memories are significant and ingrained in our memories.
The final draft will be graded based on ideas, conventions, sentence fluency and word choice; these are all based on mini lessons and conferences that have been held over the last few weeks. Once the final draft is graded and placed in portfolios, they will be sent home for you to read!
Music Exhibitions
This year, the 6th graders have the opportunity of working alongside seventh and eighth graders as they work to prepare for their music exhibitions- analyzing and teaching a folk song! Further information on the 6th graders roles and dates that they will be assisting in these exhibitions will be posted next week.
