Every year, the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the “Mini Term” weeks,
are busy ones at Mustard Seed. There are unique units of study, opportunities for
service, special concerts, the celebration of Advent, and more. Then, on the last day,
we all gather in the evening to celebrate Las Posadas, as led by all our Upper School
students. Here are some of the unique experiences of the season:
Living Well Class, Portraiture, Japanese Language and Culture, Sound Explosion, Internship opportunities, Engineering Design Squad, Let's Sing!, Amigurumi, and Exploring the Graphic Novel.

Basketball: December Practices
Practices begin today (Tuesday). More details to come right away.
Concert at MSS: December 2
On this Thursday afternoon, visiting musicians will perform here, sharing the music of India.
Progress Reports: Mailed this week!
So far this term, there have been at least two parent conferences formally scheduled. Once progress reports are received, you may want to schedule another either this month or after the first of the year. Don't hesitate to phone or email to set up a time.
Field Trip: December 8
Next week, students in grades 6-8 travel to Carnegie Hall to attend a performance. This performance of traditional Indian music is a part of our partnership in the Weil Institute Global Encounters Program.
We will leave EARLY by bus, almost as soon as students arrive, and will be back in school by noon.
Las Posadas: December 21
The last day of school before Christmas break is Tuesday, December 21, but school does not end until that night! All Upper School students lead in some way. Students in grades 7 & 8 take special leadership roles and so arrive early - at 6:30 PM.
