In preparation for your parent/teacher conference this week, it would be helpful for you to talk with your child about the following topics.
Active Listening and Self Control are important aspects of sixth grade Fall curriculum. Here are some questions you can ask:
How have you been doing at responding to signals, making efficient transitions and following instructions?
Have you been listening to your classmates and the people around you?
In terms of Academic subject areas, there are a few key goals that sixth graders set for themselves at the start of the year, here are some questions you can ask:
What academic goals and hopes did you set for yourself at the start of the year?
What progress have you on these goals over the first six weeks?
What is one accomplishment that you've made?
What is one area you would like to work on?
Sixth graders will be leading the start of the conference and these are the areas of focus that they will think about.
