The sixth graders have truly been enjoying a new schedule during these first full days of school. You will be receiving information on your child's schedule as well as an overview of what this year will look like on Back to School Night.
Here a a couple of things to keep in mind regarding homework:
One Book Every Week!
This year, 6th graders are joining advisory groups. Every Friday morning, small groups of 6th, 7th and 8th graders meet with a teacher to discuss current events happening at school, to get to know each other and to give 'book talks'.
Each middle schooler is required to read one novel every week. In class tomorrow, we will be going over strategies to prepare for a book talk and practice giving them to each other.
Math Homework Policy
Students will be assigned math homework from Mr. Choi every night. The maximum amount of time to be spent on math homework is 45 minutes. If your child is at any time unable to finish the amount of homework given in that time frame, just write Mr. Choi a note and he will work with them in class.
