Yesterday was our last day of Terra Nova testing. If your child missed a day of school during our testing schedule, make up tests will be taking place after school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
These are some new units of study that the sixth grade will be delving into over the last few weeks of Winter Term:
Writing- Formal Letters and Book Reviews
The sixth grade will be transforming their persuasive letters into formal letters to send to an appropriate party. We will also be writing letters to authors and hope to participate in "The Great Mail Race" that is currently taking place across the country.
Reading- Zlata's Diary Literature Circles
The sixth grade will be working in small groups, reading and analyzing the memoir, Zlata's Diary.
Looking Ahead...
Over the Spring Term, the sixth grade will be working on composing memoirs. This is one of the most significant projects of the year, a parent/student memoir celebration will take place in the Spring after our six week memoir study. Stay tuned for more information on this project!
